ICONIC IMAGES / 2016-2017
This production is founded on the power of everyday images. It is inspired by various sources of popular and commercial culture. Specifically, it is based on an intimate dialogue between vintage and modern iconic images. The objective of these paintings is to destabilize the public by seizing the images that surround us and making them interact in an profound and powerful way. The flamboyant and contrasting colour sets of Lessard, combined with different processes - such as screen printing, acrylic paint, oil stick, vintage stickers, vintage signs, etc. - result in an out-of-the-ordinary visual experience.
